Dust skirts

To ensure dust, sand and debris are kept to a minimum on the tracks, wheels, and rollers of tanks and tracked vehicles, Trelleborg has designed extremely durable dust skirts that are made from synthetic rubber and suitable for installation on light, medium, and heavy vehicle.

Designed to provide the appropriate trade-off between flexibility and stiffness to ensure the dust skirts stay in the vertical position and to provide dust suppression and signature management for the vehicle but be able to deform with ground strikes, thus avoiding being torn off the vehicle.

Trelleborg ensures that the design can easily be adapted to fit vehicles with either applique armor or traditional bazooka plates while providing excellent dust and sand mitigation together with radar deflecting properties.

Trelleborg has made the installation of the skirts tailored with the choice of different materials for the fixing batons, depending on the environment the tank will operate in. There are options of armor steel, aluminum, and if required a lightweight composite baton. Trelleborg’s dust skirts are low maintenance and individual panels can be replaced if battle or accidentally damaged.

Trelleborg dust skirts are designed for global deployment in line with Def-Stan 00-35 part 2 covering echelons A1 to C2 (+58°C to -37°C).
