Trelleborg Strengthens Medical Capabilities with Baron Group Acquisition
Baron Group strengthens the position of Trelleborg Medical Solutions as a global partner for medical technology products in areas such as sleep apnea, respiratory care and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). By substantially expanding manufacturing capacity for injection molding of silicone and plastics and increasing global manufacturing capacity for liquid silicone rubber (LSR), the acquisition fortifies the presence of Trelleborg Medical Solutions in Asia and Australia. This enables the company to effectively meet customers’ growing needs for global partnerships while leveraging anticipated growth in Asia Pacific and North America.
Linda Muroski, President of Trelleborg Medical Solutions, says: “The acquisition of Baron Group marks a significant milestone in our ambition to provide comprehensive healthcare and medical services to our customers. The company's complementary culture and similar working methods make Baron Group an excellent addition to Trelleborg's existing offerings. We are convinced that this partnership will generate significant sales and production synergies.
“Through Baron Group we will leverage high-volume production and engineered solutions offering expanded capabilities for liquid silicone rubber using their state-of-the art tooling. Our new facility in Costa Rica will be very valuable in supporting this acquisition and providing Baron’s key customers with nearshoring production in the Americas.”
