Social Engagement

Together with Star for Life, Trelleborg runs a school program at the Kelani and Bellana Colleges, Sri Lanka. The idea behind the initiative is to inspire young people to believe in their future and their dreams. Trelleborg also supports Antonio Bianchi’s House, a pre-school in Colombo for for children from families with limited resources, in cooperation with Child Action Lanka. Watch video below. 

In India, Trelleborg’s community involvement includes several different activities. In schools close to our facilities in Bengaluru we have started a grant program. Talented youngsters who would otherwise have had difficulties to continue their education get a welcome financial support. In the village Maralukunte, Trelleborg has supported a development project that has included improved water supplies, street lamps and child care. The project has been run together with the organization Hand in Hand.

Local initiatives are ongoing together with Trelleborg units in various countries. A Swedish example: Trelleborg is supporting Idrott för Alla (Sports for All), which supports young people with special needs to become involved in the Ramlösa Södra football club in Helsingborg.
