KLAW Emergency Release Couplings for ambient temperature media transfer
Shuts flow and separates without stress to transfer systems - Delivering minimum spill and 100% shut-off.
KLAW Emergency Release Couplings and Systems are available for cryogenic applications. The KLAW range therefore provides a safety solution for 99% of media transfers.
The KLAW Emergency Release Coupling (ERC) is designed to activate in response to pre-defined emergency scenarios.
An activated KLAW ERC will separate the transfer system and close both downstream and upstream flows of media within the Hose or Loading Arm transfer system.
The KLAW ERC is therefore the breakpoint within a transfer system and minimizes risk to assets, personnel, reputation and the environment. Clean-up costs and operational downtime are also greatly reduced.
The KLAW Emergency Release Coupling (ERC) is the active component within the KLAW Emergency Release System (ERS).
100% closure minimizes risk of spill
The KLAW ERC is an alternative to the KLAW Breakstud Breakaway Coupling (BAC) and instead uses the KLAW Collar Release Mechanism.
This release mechanism offers manual control options and an automated system that does not rely on any tensile load to the transfer system to activate.
This enables control over the release of the coupling for a pre-determined situation or operational condition.
The KLAW ERC therefore enables less stress on associated hoses and pipework compared to the Breakaway Coupling (BAC) option.
