The journey

I joined Trelleborg on March 13, 2024, starting as a Human Resources Coordinator. My journey began with a strong interest in strengthening HR processes and supporting both employees and leadership in meaningful ways.

Over the last two years, my role has expanded well beyond traditional HR coordination into a more strategic function. I have taken on responsibilities in areas such as training and development, succession planning, employee engagement, and data-driven decision-making. Throughout this process, I have continually broadened and developed my skill set to meet these new challenges.

Trelleborg also gives me the opportunity to make a real impact. The company values continuous improvement and people development, which aligns closely with my passion for HR and my motivation, which is to see people grow, whether that's helping someone advance in their career, gain confidence in their role, or feel more connected to the organization. It excites me that I can influence that growth, both for individuals and for the organization as a whole.

Behind the expertise

To me, expertise means continuously learning, adapting, and finding better ways to support people and processes. It's about being proactive, solutions-focused, and committed to delivering value every day.

With 10 years of experience in HR, I have seen that the fundamentals remain the same: finding the right fit by placing the right people in the right roles and then giving them the tools and environment to thrive. And like most organizations, we face challenges around retaining employees in a competitive market and increasing engagement both within the organization and in the wider community.

While the basics are consistent, the future of HR is being shaped by advancements in technology, a growing focus on data and analytics, and evolving employee expectations around flexibility, development, and workplace culture. There is also an increasing emphasis on sustainability and building long-term workforce strategies that hold up over time.

We are preparing for what’s next by strengthening our talent development strategies, improving internal career visibility, and leveraging data to make more informed decisions. We are also focused on building leadership capabilities and adapting to new technologies that enhance both efficiency and employee experience.

Beyond work

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and being involved in the

community. I enjoy running, reading, and travel, and I also cheer for the Iowa State and Nebraska University sports programs.

I’m also an entrepreneur and own a speakeasy [a Prohibition-era style cocktail bar]. I enjoy applying my HR knowledge – particularly in analytics, labor management, and continuous learning – to my business, which allows me to think strategically and bring a different perspective to both roles.

My interests outside of work help me stay balanced and bring a fresh perspective to challenges. They reinforce my focus on relationships, adaptability, and continuous improvement.
