Trelleborg acquires seals distributor for expansion in the US

Trelleborg has, through its business area Trelleborg Sealing Solutions, signed an agreement and finalized the acquisition of the privately owned U.S.-based Anderson Seal LLC. The business specializes in the distribution and service of seals, gaskets and custom-molded products for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in several industries. The acquisition will increase Trelleborg’s presence in the Midwestern United States.  

The acquired business has its office and warehouse in New Berlin, Wisconsin. Sales amounted to approximately SEK 145 M in 2015. This bolt-on acquisition is part of Trelleborg’s strategy to strengthen its positions in attractive market segments. 

“Anderson Seal is a good fit to our culture and business model as they work very closely with their customers and are offering them several sophisticated services, like kitting and complex assembly. With the acquisition Trelleborg will significantly increase its market share in the American Midwest,” says Claus Barsøe, President of the Trelleborg Sealing Solutions business area.

The transaction will be consolidated as of September 7, 2016.
