Trelleborg strengthens its position in diving suits with Hunter Diving

Trelleborg, through its Trelleborg Engineered Systems business area, has acquired Hunter Diving Ltd., a company based in Dumfries, Scotland. Hunter, which is privately owned, manufactures dry diving suits for professional divers who are active in advanced rescue services and defense. Annual sales are slightly less than SEK 10 M and vary as a result of project deliveries. Trelleborg is not taking over any employees in conjunction with the acquisition, but intends to transfer production to its existing business in Tauragé, Lithuania, within a few months.

“Through the acquisition of Hunter Diving, we will further strengthen our market-leading position in this attractive segment,” says Lennart Johansson, President of the Trelleborg Engineered Systems business area. “The combination of two strong brands, the new Hunter Diving and our existing Viking brand, mean that the conditions for organic growth are increasing, particularly in the key US and UK markets.”

Trelleborg Protective Products, which is included in the Trelleborg Engineered Systems business area, develops and markets protective products for extreme environments, including chemical protective suits of the Trellchem® brand and diving suits of the Viking brand.
