Scholarship Beneficiaries meet Trelleborg Leaders

Since 2016, Trelleborg Sealing Solutions based in Bengaluru, India has played a pivotal role in the lives of many meritorious girl students by offering scholarships through the Akshaya Patra Foundation. Due to financial constraints, these girls are challenged to continue their higher education without a scholarship.

The Trelleborg Scholarship Program runs in partnership with the Akshaya Patra Foundation to enable students to overcome their financial disadvantages and pursue higher education. Several students have completed their studies and commenced their professional journey with world-renowned organizations. Thus, becoming the torchbearers for many other marginalized and meritorious adolescents. 

 

During a recent visit to India Peter Nilsson, President and CEO, and Fredrik Nilsson, Group CFO, invited a group the scholars to a short interaction. These “Trelleborg Scholars” excitedly shared their experiences on how the scholarships enabled them to stand on their own feet, bring life to their dream of building their careers from scratch, and support their families financially. Some also shared their plans of giving back to society so that more girls like them can fulfill their dreams. In addition, the scholars listened to Peter Nilsson giving them valuable life tips including the importance of choosing the right organization and learning from the right manager who can help develop their career path.

 

In appreciation of their dedication, the India leadership team gifted a goodie bag that included motivational books like Believe in Yourself, You Can, The Power of Positive Attitude, Because Life is a Gift, and One Day, Life will Change, in English and the regional language to these life champions. These ladies are truly setting an example for many other adolescent girls like them. There is no adversity when you have the right intent and support of a strong organization.

 

The day ended with a reflection on the joy of meeting each other, to which the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the financial and moral support in reaching for and obtaining their dream of higher education.
