Key takeaways of the webinar

  • Learn about seal simulation capabilities, as well as specific capabilities for aerospace products and applications
  • Find out about material characterization and simulation verification testing
  • Understand how Finite Element Analysis (FEA) can be performed for a wide range of aerospace products, including airframe seals, engine seals and bearings for landing gear
  • Learn how Moldflow analysis ensures high quality custom molded parts by analyzing the manufacturing process

Simulation Capabilities

Trelleborg Sealing Solutions utilizes different methods of design analysis and simulation, including:

  • FEA to determine the performance of sealing products and materials in the operating environment. By simulating the behavior of a component within a virtual environment, rapid modifications and design iterations can be tested for viability; a process that would take significantly longer with conventional methods.
  • Moldflow analysis to simulate the filling of cavities in the molding process.  This simulation replaces the earlier “test and try” method of mold making and offers time and costs savings by significantly reducing the testing and validation phases.

When simulation methods are combined with engineering expertise and a portfolio of tried and tested materials, the optimal material or product design for an application can be determined, increasing design quality and reliability and reducing time to market and overall costs.
