SuperSealer Stephan Lünnemann

Stephan Lünnemann

Our SuperSealer for August helps take care of Trelleborg’s most important asset: our people. Whether he’s making sure we have the right talent for the future of the company or leading training and development initiatives, he’s always working hard to create the ideal work environment. Below he reveals what makes working at Trelleborg unique, why the company’s culture is so important, and how he strives to be the ideal “sparring partner” for the business.

Who are you?

My name is Stephan Lünnemann and I’m HR Manager at Trelleborg Seals & Profiles.

How long have you been in this role and what are your main responsibilities?

I’ve been with Trelleborg for two and a half years. In that time, I’ve never had two days that were the same. I might be helping to manage the recruitment process, carrying out address verifications, dealing with salaries, or overseeing the implementation of training and development activities. At the end of the day, it’s all about ensuring our people can reach their potential by creating a work environment that fosters cohesion and excellence.

What do you like about working with Trelleborg?

The Trelleborg culture is one of the things that makes this company special. Our workforce brings together such an amazing mix of talents, experiences, and backgrounds – it’s always a pleasure to come to work. Working in HR at Trelleborg also offers me a high degree of autonomy and many opportunities to learn new skills, related to both HR and the business, which I really appreciate. The more I learn, the more effectively I can help my colleagues.

What are the main challenges you face in your role?

One of the key functions of HR is to be what we call a “sparring partner” to the business. That means it’s my job to speak up and make sure that the well-being of employees is at the forefront of the decision-making process. Fundamentally, it’s our people who drive our business forward, so we’ve got to prioritize their needs. Sometimes there isn’t an easy solution to every problem, but that’s what makes my job so exciting – I love a challenge!

How do you think the business in your area of expertise is going to evolve in the future?

In HR, it’s important to stay on top of changes in both the business landscape and the needs of our employees. But one thing never changes: no matter what challenges we may face as a company, it’s my job to make sure that we always treat each other with respect. That’s the foundation of a strong company culture. From that basis, we can build better relationships with colleagues, reach out to those who need support, and foster trust. We’re all stronger together, and it’s my privilege to help ensure that we can always be there for each other.

What do you do in your free time?

I’m a very active person and love being outdoors, whether it’s playing in the garden with my kids or meeting friends for a game of tennis. I’m also a huge soccer fan – it’s a lifelong passion of mine, and I’m really looking forward to the start of the new season!
