Trelleborg showcases low-friction MTB suspension seal at Taipei Cycle 2023
Superior suspension for mountain bikes
Located in Hall 1 on stand M1006, 4F, attendees can experience Trelleborg’s innovative technologies including a new material for the seals in the suspension systems of mountain bikes (MTBs) which uses a proprietary compound offering outstanding damping with low friction, providing riders with a smooth ride.
Kevin Lai, Taiwan Customer Solution Centre General Manager, says: “The suspension on an MTB is critical to its performance, and the seal plays a major role in optimizing the travel of the suspension. Our new material strikes a balance between damping the major impacts the suspension of an MTB endures yet providing low-friction characteristics for a smooth ride.
“We will also showcase Trelleborg’s capabilities in engineered molded parts, with customers benefitting not just from standard seals but the design and manufacture of custom profile sealing systems.”
Visitors to the Trelleborg stand can experience the new material for themselves with samples of physical products they can see and handle. Demonstrating Trelleborg’s “global but local” philosophy, the compound was created in the United States with development and testing in Germany.
Focus on reducing emissions
Trelleborg’s experts will also be showcasing how environmental, social and governance policies will drive the company’s “50 by 25” target to reduce CO2 emissions relative to sales by 50% by the year 2025.
