Unique Turcon® PTFE

Turcon® is the name for the Trelleborg Sealing Solutions range of proprietary polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) based sealing materials. They are manufactured in a wide range of different seal geometries and are commonly used in semiconductor applications such as vacuum pumps, valves and robotics.

Inherently, PTFE is compatible with almost all chemicals, making it ideal for use in equipment where exposure to demanding media is likely. Filler and special processing technologies give compounds specific operating properties. The materials demonstrate excellent friction and self-lubricating characteristics, making them suited to dynamic and rotating situations.

Turcon® MC1 and Turcon® MC2 are the only PTFE-based electrically conductive materials suited for use in spring and elastomer-energized seals. Engineered for dynamic applications, seals and bearings from these materials will provide a reliable electric connection between moving parts.
