Trelleborg’s divestment of Fluid Solutions business unit completed

Trelleborg’s divestment of its Fluid Solutions operation in the Trelleborg Automotive business area has now been completed. The operation will be taken over by Bavaria Industriekapital AG, based in Munich, Germany.

The divestment is part of the strategy to focus Trelleborg’s operations to selected segments. As a result, the vehicle-related operations will be further concentrated. Looking ahead, Trelleborg Automotive will invest even more energy in strengthening its world-leading position in noise and vibration-damping solutions for the automotive industry.

Fluid Solutions has approximately 1,900 employees and operations in France, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, the Czech Republic, Turkey and Germany. Fluid Solutions manufactures components such as hoses for engine-cooling and air-supply solutions, mainly for passenger cars. The operation had sales of approximately SEK 1,300 M in 2009 and recorded a loss.  

The final financial effects of the divestment will be presented in Trelleborg’s second-quarter interim report for 2010, due to be published on July 21, 2010.
