Peter Nilsson new president and CEO of Trelleborg AB

The Board of Directors of Trelleborg AB has appointed Peter Nilsson, currently president of the Trelleborg Engineered Systems business area, as the new president and CEO of the Trelleborg Group. He succeeds Fredrik Arp, who is leaving the Trelleborg Group after nearly seven years as CEO. Peter Nilsson will assume the post on October 1, 2005. “With his international experience and expertise regarding the company, Peter Nilsson is the right person to further develop the Trelleborg Group,” says the Chairman of Trelleborg AB’s Board, Anders Narvinger, commenting on the appointment. ”Peter’s experience of operations in markets important to Trelleborg, such as Asia, combined with his ability to translate applications know-how and customer needs into growth is precisely what the Trelleborg Group needs,” states Narvinger. Peter Nilsson, who is 38 years old and has an M. Sc Eng. degree, has considerable international experience of both production and sales in an industrial environment. Peter has been employed by the Group since 1995, in two different business areas and in various posts, with general responsibility for operations in Europe, North America and Asia. During the past two years, he has been responsible for one of the Group’s most expansive business areas, constantly improving its profitability. Peter Nilsson has been a member of Trelleborg’s Senior Management team since 2003. In co-determination negotiations, the trade-union organizations have expressed their support for the appointment. After having successfully steered the repositioning process that has resulted in today’s focused industrial group, current president, Fredrik Arp is leaving Trelleborg to become the president of the Volvo Car Corporation. He will also be leaving his assignment as member of the Board of Trelleborg.
