Annual report 2003

Trelleborg’s Annual Report for 2003 will be published today at www.trelleborg.com and has, at the same time, been distributed to Trelleborg’s shareholders.

The Annual Report describes Trelleborg’s process of focusing operations, which is now largely complete.

“The repositioning of recent years through strategic acquisitions and other measures has resulted in a first-class industrial platform and the Group is now entering a new phase,” writes CEO Fredrik Arp in his comments. He also affirms that the Trelleborg Group has a competitive structure and a strong technological base.

As the result of both large- and small-scale acquisitions in 2003, the Trelleborg Group grew by nearly 7,000 employees, entailing great emphasis being placed on integration efforts. The Annual Report specifically presents the integration process within the Group’s new business area, Trelleborg Sealing Solutions, and Fredrik Arp states that there are strong hopes of realizing the expected synergies.

The overall theme of the Annual Report is organic growth and Fredrik Arp concludes that future focus will be on organic growth and complementary acquisitions to help strengthen the Group’s core operations. This includes intensified product-development efforts and expansion in markets such as Asia and South America.
