Trelleborg signs international cooperation agreement with the American company JPS Elastomerics The Trelleborg Building Systems Business area has signed an international marketing and sales cooperation agreement with JPS Elastomerics, a division of Nasdaq-listed JPS Industries, Inc. in the United States. The agreement becomes effective on May 1, 2002. JPS Elastomerics' range of TPO (thermoplastic polyolefin-based) roof-covering and geomembrane- products will make an excellent complement to the range offered in Europe by Trelleborg Building Systems, which expects to initially boost its annual sales by approximately SEK 25 M as a result. At the same time, the agreement means that the marketing and sales activities related to certain of Trelleborg Building Systems' products in the US market will be intensified through JPS Elastomerics organization. "We have made a long and careful study of the way in which the TPO market has developed in Europe in recent years and believe that this type of product can be an important complement to the current Trelleborg range, which is based on bitumen (asphalt) and EPDM," says Peter Suter, President of Trelleborg Building Systems Business Area. "We have been in contact with several suppliers of TPO products and in our opinion JPS Elastomerics' range of Stevens products represents absolutely the best technology and will also provide us with the most advanced know-how in this area," he concludes. JPS Elastomerics Stevens Roofing Systems is a leading manufacturer of TPO, thermoplastic single-ply roofing membranes. Their assortment also comprises geomembranes.
