Fredrik Arp appointed new President and CEO of Trelleborg

Fredrik Arp appointed new President and CEO of Trelleborg The Trelleborg AB Board of Directors has decided to appoint Fredrik Arp new President and Chief Executive Officer of Trelleborg. Mr. Arp, who was formerly Chief Executive Officer of the PLM Group, succeeds Kjell Nilsson, who recently left the Trelleborg Group after nine years as President and CEO. Fredrik Arp will assume his new position on February 8, 1999. "We feel that Fredrik Arp's international experience and his existing knowledge of the company makes him the right person to lead the Trelleborg Group towards the challenges facing us," says Trelleborg's Chairman, Rune Andersson, commenting on the appointment. Fredrik Arp joins Trelleborg from the packaging company PLM where, as President and Chief Executive Officer since 1995, and among other achievements, he has expanded PLM's operations in Eastern Europe, at the same time as the company's positions in the remainder of Europe have been consolidated through the acquisition of additional operations. Fredrik Arp has experience of a number of earlier assignments within the Trelleborg Group. Most recently as Executive Vice President within Trelleborg AB, with responsibility for the Group's Industrial Sector, and as Chairman of Bröderna Edstrand. Prior to that, he was President of Boliden Kemi AB and also served as President of the Group's Tires Division. In the codetermination negotiations with employee representatives, which have now been completed, the trade union organizations supported the new appointment.
