Trelleborg acquires Trebolit; expands within roofing area
The Trelleborg Group has acquired Swedish roofing materials manufacturer,
Trebolit AB. The company, which has annual sales of approximately SEK 100
million, employs some 55 employees at its plant in Trelleborg.

Trebolit produces polymer-based sealing for the roofing, construction sectors.
Formerly a family-owned company, Trebolit traces its operations back to 1889.
The company's range has been developed from the production of relatively
simple tar-paper products to highly advanced roof-sealing products designed to
meet high customer demands for durability and functionality.

"This acquisition provides us with a strong position in Sweden and the rest of
the Nordic region," comments Trelleborg's Chief Executive Officer Kjell
Nilsson. "Trebolit is a modern and efficient company that will complement our
own operations in this area, under the Mataki and Trelleborg Isolerduk brands,
extremely well. Through Trebolit we also gain important additional expertise
within the area of sealing materials for the civil engineering industry, with
the Öresund Bridge project as a good example."

Trebolit will be integrated with the operations of the Trelleborg Building
Systems business area, which following this acquisition will have annual net
sales of about SEK 1.4 billion, of which roof sealing products will account
for around one third. Trelleborg already has its own manufacturing units in
Sweden, in Höganäs and Värnamo.

"The acquisition of Trebolit makes a major contribution to our product range,"
says Peter Suter, President of the Trelleborg Building Systems business area.
"It strengthens our base for an even greater focus on exports, while
simultaneously enabling us to further develop Trebolit's bridge membrane
seals, a product area in which we see major potential for growth."

The acquisition is subject to the approval of the Swedish Competition
Authority.
