Webinar New PIANC WG211 Fender Guidelines Explained

Following the release of PIANC's new Fender Design Guidelines 2024, Trelleborg Marine and Infrastructure launched a live webinar series, starting with our introductory session on Tuesday, May 14th, 2024. During this session, our experts gave a comprehensive overview of the updated guidelines and their implications for the marine industry.

The webinar series will continue with subsequent sessions on May 21st, May 28th, June 4th, and June 11th. Each webinar will be held twice to accommodate different time zones. These sessions will delve deeper into the various chapters of the guidelines, offering detailed insights for attendees.

PIANC Fender Design Guidelines 2024 began as an update to the 2002 'Guidelines for the Design of Fenders Systems' but has transformed into an essential, comprehensive guide. It supersedes the WG 33 guidelines with innovative practices for designing, manufacturing, and testing fender systems. We are pleased to have played a key role in shaping the new PIANC Fender Design Guidelines 2024, with our experts Marco Gaal and Mishra Kumar working alongside other members of the PIANC Working Group 211. While Marco led Chapter 12: Sustainability of Fenders, Mishra served as a lead for Chapter 10: Test Procedures of Marine Fenders, both chapters forming a crucial part of the PIANC Fender Guidelines 2024. Marco Gaal and Mishra Kumar will conduct the webinar in two sessions lasting an hour and a half each.
