Trelleborg’s applied technologies operation unveils its new TC350 castable epoxy tooling solution.

This unique material has a high operating temperature of up to +180 OC, maintaining its shape at elevated temperatures for repeated direct to part manufacturing.

Kerry Lyons, Business Development Manager at Trelleborg’s applied technologies operation in Rochdale, England, states: “TC350 is really innovative in that it is available as a castable or board solution, engineered to be dimensionally stable in an autoclave up to +180 OC. Customers can create multiple finished parts directly from TC350, removing the requirement for costly carbon fiber prepregs and improving operational efficiencies.

“The unique castable properties of TC350 mean it can create tooling of any shape or size, from small intricate pieces to large complex designs, without the need for machining, reducing excess material wastage. As part of its value-added services, Trelleborg can provide cast tools from 3-D CAD drawings, for customers that do not have access to CNC machines or with limited capacity.”

TC350 is a specialized high temperature, low density syntactic epoxy tooling board, supporting the creation of parts for use in a range of industries, such as aerospace, automotive and marine. The tooling board is compatible with the lightweight carbon fiber, polypropylene, and glass fiber reinforced plastics (GFRP) used in the manufacturing of electric vehicles.

As a leading provider of tooling board materials for the automotive and aerospace industries, TC350 is the latest addition to Trelleborg’s innovative range of tooling solutions available globally. For more information go to https://bit.ly/2T4TrS6
