We offer two boot designs so you can match the right solution to your steering system.
Standard boot design
Our standard boot design fits all electric power steering (EPS) and hydraulic power steering (HPS) systems where air circulation stays inside the rack. It is the preferred choice when a compact design is required, combining low weight with a robust solution for any demanding environment.
Anti-snaking Rack & Pinion boots
Snaking is the bending that occurs in a boot when the rack and pinion system comes under high pressure. This deformation can create holes through abrasion or puncturing. In the worst case, it can lead to a breakdown of the rack and pinion system and cause the vehicle to lose steering.
Trelleborg's patented anti-snaking design prevents this failure. It is built to withstand very high pressures, including those found in sealed systems such as electric steering, and offers complete protection for the steering gear even at temperatures up to 150 °C.
