Hans Peter Nufer’s career at Trelleborg is defined by a steadfast commitment to quality, a spirit of innovation and the Swiss values that shaped his approach to work, spanning 7,660 working days or 34 years. His story began in 1991 when he joined the team as the sole member of quality assurance.
His story began in 1991 when he joined the team as the sole member of quality assurance. Equipped with an MS-DOS "Commodore 64", a CRT screen with green lettering, a 9-pin printer, and a clear mission, he set out to build a quality management system from the ground up.
Over the years, Hans Peter witnessed Trelleborg’s transformation and growth first-hand. The team expanded tenfold, from just 16 to 160 employees. He worked alongside four managing directors and nine production managers, navigating periods of change with unwavering focus. When leadership faced a sudden transition, Hans Peter stepped in as deputy managing director, providing steady guidance in a critical moment.
Throughout more than 380 audits, countless projects and every challenge along the way, Hans Peter championed virtues that remain today: quality, discipline, reliability and team spirit. These values are woven into the fabric of the facility today, thanks in no small part to his influence.
Setting the Standard
In those early days, resources were limited, but Hans Peter’s dedication was boundless. He worked with the team to secure the Swiss facility’s first ISO certification in 1995, a pivotal milestone that set a new standard for excellence.
