This month’s SuperSealer has seen Trelleborg grow over his nearly three decades with the company, playing a key role in that journey. As a technical designer, he thrives on solving complex challenges, supporting innovation and keeping production on track. Beyond the technical details, however, what stands out most is his passion for teamwork and continuous improvement.

Who are you?

Hi, I’m Victor Flores, a technical designer at our facility in Milford, New Hampshire. I’m 65 years old and, even after decades in the field, I’m still passionate about engineering and finding new ways to innovate.

How long have you worked in this position, and what are your key duties?

I’ve been in this role for just over 29 years, and even now, no two days are ever quite the same. One moment, I might be managing daily manufacturing orders or updating engineering prints, the next, I’m setting up part numbers and maintaining bills of materials in Traverse. I also get to roll up my sleeves on the creative side, handling the design and modification of machines, releasing manufacturing packages to production and writing CNC programs for machining parts. I also document all components and assemblies, support R&D with design work and contribute ideas for future product development. In short, it’s a role that keeps me busy, challenged and constantly learning.

How long have you been with Trelleborg in total, and what do you enjoy about working here?

I started as a documentation specialist before growing into my current position. The culture is why I’ve been here nearly three decades. There's a real sense of teamwork, collaboration and shared purpose. People support each other, push for innovation, and are always looking for ways to improve. It’s an environment where you can continue to develop personally and professionally.

What are the key challenges you face in your job?

One of the biggest challenges is balancing speed and efficiency, especially when machine orders spike unexpectedly. It can be demanding, but having a reliable and skilled team makes all the difference. Together, we find ways to manage the workload and deliver what’s needed.

How do you think the business in your area will evolve in the future?

I believe we’ll see greater automation and smarter digital tools in the future, which will enhance consistency and productivity. Sustainability is also becoming increasingly important, so reducing waste and energy use is a priority. To prepare for these changes, I’m expanding my knowledge of lean manufacturing and encouraging cross-training in our teams.

What do you do in your free time?

Outside of work, I love staying active. I bike to work whenever the weather permits and spend a lot of time outdoors with my family and our dogs. In the summer, you’ll often find me at the beach enjoying the fresh air and sea breeze.
