Trelleborg has once again been recognized as one of Europe’s leading companies in climate action, earning a place in the prestigious Europe’s Climate Leaders 2026 ranking compiled by the Financial Times in partnership with data provider Statista.

Among the 600 European companies included in this year’s ranking, Trelleborg advanced significantly, climbing from 102nd to 22nd place overall. The company also improved its standing in Sweden, ranking as the third-highest placed Swedish company, up from ninth place last year. The recognition highlights organizations that have made significant progress in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and advancing their climate commitments.

Now in its sixth edition, the ranking evaluates companies primarily on their ability to reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions between 2019 and 2024. Scope 1 emissions originate from a company’s own operations, while Scope 2 emissions are generated from the energy a company purchases and consumes. The assessment also considers reductions in emissions intensity, climate-related commitments and participation in initiatives such as CDP and the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

The Financial Times and Statista ranking is one of Europe’s leading benchmarks for corporate climate performance. This year’s methodology included enhanced verification of participating companies’ emissions data.

Trelleborg’s inclusion reflects the Group’s continued progress in reducing the environmental impact of its operations. In 2025, Trelleborg reduced its Scope 1 and Scope 2 carbon emissions by 69 percent compared with the 2021 base year, supported by investments in energy efficiency, renewable energy solutions and operational improvements across the Group. The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) recently validated Trelleborg’s new 2030 target to reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 75 percent compared with the 2021 base year, underscoring the Group’s commitment to continued emissions reductions.
