Clean drinking water is a priceless natural resource that is essential to life, health, and the overall well-being of communities. Unfortunately, many people around the world lack access to clean drinking water, which can lead to serious health and environmental hazards. In Bengaluru, India, Trelleborg took action to help provide clean drinking water for over 3,000 villagers through a partnership with the Right to Live Foundation.

Two villages in the outskirts of Bengaluru, which serve as an agricultural center, were facing a serious concern over recent years due to water contamination. The groundwater had become polluted with high levels of fluoride content causing health and environmental hazards and making it unfit for drinking or for agriculture. These villagers who are primarily farmers had to travel at least 4 to 5 kilometers to get safe drinking water. Trelleborg joined hands with the Right to Live Foundation to set up two water treatment plants in the villages, using Reverse Osmosis (RO) technology to provide clean and healthy drinking water 24/7.Reverse Osmosis technology installation

The installation of the RO plants has helped the villagers immensely, eliminating the chore of long-distance travel to draw water numerous times a day for various utility purposes. The facility was inaugurated virtually and opened immediately for the villagers to use. Today, villagers from more than 300 households benefit from this initiative, which has created a significant and positive impact in their day-to-day life.
