Trelleborg Shares Business Perspectives With Future Leaders at Lund University

Johan Wijk presenting Trelleborg at Lund University
Trelleborg recently joined around 270 international master’s students at Lund University School of Economics and Management for “Exploring Sustainability,” a full-day event focused on sustainability, business decisions and long-term value creation.

Students participated in the Celemi Sustainability™ simulation, working with realistic business challenges such as supply chain disruptions, resource shortages, volatile energy prices and geopolitical uncertainty.

Based on learning by doing, the simulation lets students make business decisions, see the consequences and explore how sustainability can be integrated with financial performance and long-term value creation.

Representatives from Trelleborg and two other companies contributed perspectives from working life, connecting the simulation with challenges faced by businesses today.

For Trelleborg, the discussions with the students centered on an increasingly important question: How can sustainability contribute to competitiveness, resilience and new business opportunities?

Sustainability is an integral part of Trelleborg’s business and a key driver of long-term value creation. Across the value chain, Trelleborg works to reduce its impact while developing solutions that improve performance and help reduce the environmental impact of customers’ applications.

The event also offered an opportunity to exchange perspectives with students and discuss how sustainability is becoming part of everyday business decision-making.

By bringing together academia and industry, initiatives such as “Exploring Sustainability” allow students to apply theoretical knowledge to realistic business situations while giving companies an opportunity to engage with future business leaders.
