Seal design & function
Trelleborg 401 is a combined lip and compression sealing system that is positioned in the groove of the glass reinforced pipe (GRP).
A rubber stopper profile is located in the middle groove of the coupling to prevent spigot end damage and ensure the joint is correctly centered.
Once jointed, the Trelleborg 401 will absorb any permissible variation in pipe geometry whilst maintaining a high sealing performance.
The material chosen, EPDM vulcanized rubber, offers excellent resilience, strength and resistance to abrasion and materials present in wastewater. This makes it the perfect choice for non-pressure underground drainage and sewage systems.
The Trelleborg 401 meets or exceeds current international material standards.
