We have several ongoing education initiatives from supporting students from different socio-economic backgrounds, offering mentorship, and learning opportunities, and partnering with institutions to expand their research facilities and opportunities.

We at Trelleborg drive several activities to address the rise in plastic pollution and protect the local communities.
In particular, we organize recurring beach/ desert/ community clean-up days in several of our locations. We have also introduced steps to recycle and reuse as much of the plastics in our operations as possible.

Qingdao – Helping Student Sponsoring
In August, a group of 30 volunteers, including 24 employees and six kids, participated in the two-day Autumn Students Sponsoring activity by Qingdao Dandelion, Jiao Zhou. The event, held annually with about 150 volunteers, aims to help financially vulnerable students under 18 years old with their tuition and monthly living expenses.

Dubai – Keeping the desert clean
Trelleborg Marine & Infrastructure team in Dubai, along with their families, joined forces to clean up a small section of the Sharjah desert. Through the initiative, more than a dozen bin bags filled with discarded plastics, glass, broken car parts and other waste were picked up and disposed from the desert.

Trelleborg Marine & Infrastructure team in Qingdao initiated the ‘Protection of Marine Ecology’ initiative at the Shiloaren Beach – one of the most famous beaches in Qingdao. More than 30 employees participated in the beach cleaning where they also engaged beach goers with a series of interactive activities to raise awareness on the importance of environmental protection, plastic reduction and sustainable development.
