Y Type Permanent Strainers are extremely versatile and can be used in a wide range of applications where protection of major capital equipment is required.


The Y-Type body has a compact cylindrical shape that is very strong and can handle high pressures; process elements include pumps, flowmeters, control valves, steam traps, heat exchangers, chillers, spray nozzles, relief valves and regulators.


The Y Type Strainer is designed for both horizontal and vertical application in pipelines.


The removable drain plug features a stainless-steel screen mesh. This economical strainer element is recommended for systems where damage to valves and other mechanical equipment needs to be avoided.

Fabricated Y-Type strainers are used for larger sizes and higher pressures and are generally more cost-effective.

The mesh size of the strainer is compact and easy to clean.

Built in Accordance with International Standards

In addition to the basic materials, Trelleborg can manufacture in a wide variety of special metals such as Monel, Inconel, Hastalloy C, Duplex stainless and other alloy steels.

A comprehensive range of flanges can be provided in accordance with all International Standards including ANSI, BS4504, BS10, and DIN specifications.

There is an issue of high differential pressure drops caused by some manufacturers reducing the size of strainer bodies to save materials and cut costs. To prevent the resulting flow restriction, Trelleborg supplies Vee Bee units with generous ratios of filtration area to pipe bore area.
