When Torben Andersen first joined Trelleborg, he was looking for a role that offered variety and growth.

With applications spanning various industries, Torben quickly realized the depth and breadth of knowledge he would gain. One of Torben’s most significant contributions was his role in transforming how Trelleborg manages its aerospace business. Realizing the limitations of separate country units, he championed the creation of a single global aerospace team. This change fostered stronger collaboration, unified goals and ultimately a more agile and powerful organization. The formation of a Global Aerospace Management team made work at Trelleborg even more exciting and he really enjoys the contact with colleagues around the globe.
With a passion for both engineering and communication, Torben has always valued the importance of powerful sales and marketing tools. He played a key part in modernizing the group’s approach, developing everything from interactive apps and 3D animations to comprehensive catalogs and inspiring airshow displays. These resources became essential for empowering Trelleborg’s global sales force to connect with customers and share the unique benefits of their solutions.
Engineering a new approach
As Torben’s career progressed, he moved from Application Engineer for Industrial Seals to Director of the Aerospace Segment. He found himself at the forefront of key aerospace projects, including work on high-profile aircraft. Early in his aerospace leadership, Torben led the shift to proactively analyze and break down of aircraft into individual systems. This approach enabled the team to design comprehensive solutions ahead of customers’ needs. A strategic move that helped Trelleborg earn important business and establish strong partnerships in the industry.One of Torben’s most significant contributions was his role in transforming how Trelleborg manages its aerospace business. Guidance for the Next Generation
Torben’s story is also one of mentorship. His advice is straightforward: “Look for ways to grow inside the company. Express your wishes for change and be ready to take on a new role, even across teams, industries or countries.
