For 25 years, Katarzyna Sokulska has been more than an employee; she has been a builder, a pioneer and a leader. In her role as Supply Chain Manager for Pipe Seals in EMEA and APAC, her career built from the ground up parallels Trelleborg’s story of ambitious growth and innovation.

Building a foundation with trust and excellence

Katarzyna joined Trelleborg on January 29, 2000, as one of the pioneers of a new facility in Poland. With clear vision and determination, she built the logistics team from a single desk into a powerhouse, developing a system from scratch to support a rapidly expanding business.

Among her most memorable projects was stabilizing and strengthening the Pipe Seals Worldwide Distribution Center in the Netherlands. This milestone required her to unite diverse teams and processes across borders. Under her leadership, two distinct operations were streamlined into a single, cohesive supply chain. Within just eight months, logistics KPIs improved dramatically, operational costs decreased, and transparent routines were established.

Navigating this challenge taught Katarzyna the vital importance of respecting each country's unique culture and adapting her management approach accordingly. This experience deepened her appreciation for international collaboration and shaped her ability to lead with flexibility, a hallmark that continues to define her impact at Trelleborg.

Restoring trust through this project stands among Katarzyna’s greatest accomplishments. By delivering on promises, she demonstrated to both customers and colleagues that Trelleborg’s logistics services could always be counted on. This trust became a catalyst for future success and is a testament to her commitment. Her work as a coordinator in the Purchasing Excellence Program contributed further savings and enhanced business security by developing alternative suppliers, making an impact well beyond her everyday role.

Advice for the next generation

After 25 years, Katarzyna offers thoughtful advice for future generations: “Do your best, as it is you and your personal satisfaction that matter, even when working in a corporation like Trelleborg.”

She advises valuing a healthy balance between work and personal life and encourages learning from the smart, clever colleagues you meet and seeking them out as mentors. Looking ahead, she urges new employees to embrace Trelleborg’s international mindset, stay open to new perspectives, and champion digitalization and AI as the industry continues to evolve.
