Anitha Karan

Portrait of Anitha Karan
Anitha Karan has grown from supporting core human resources operations to shaping strategic talent initiatives as deputy manager at Trelleborg Antivibration Solutions in India. Her story shows how individual growth and global collaboration go hand in hand within a company built on trust and shared learning.

What has been the most rewarding part of your career with Trelleborg so far?

My seven years with Trelleborg have allowed me to grow professionally and personally while contributing meaningfully to the organization. Working alongside talented, supportive colleagues across teams has been equally fulfilling. A culture built on knowledge sharing and problem solving makes challenges feel like opportunities.

How has your role at Trelleborg changed or developed over time?

My role at Trelleborg has evolved significantly, both in scope and responsibility. When I started, my focus was largely on core human resources operations such as recruitment coordination, employee records and supporting day-to-day activities. As I progressed into the deputy manager role, my responsibilities expanded to include more strategic aspects. I became more involved in talent management, employee engagement initiatives, performance management and driving initiatives aligned with business goals.

How has being part of a global team influenced your work and personal growth?

Being part of a global team has increased my cultural awareness and openness. Understanding different viewpoints and ways of working has made me more empathetic and flexible. This exposure has boosted my confidence to contribute to global discussions and take on more responsibility.

In what ways do you feel your role at Trelleborg allows you to shape the future of industry?

As deputy human resource manager, I contribute to shaping the future of our industry by focusing on its most critical asset: people. A key part of this is talent acquisition and development. By identifying and onboarding the right talent, I help ensure the organization has the skills needed to drive innovation and remain competitive in a rapidly evolving industrial landscape.

Describe a time you felt truly inspired by your colleagues or the work we do here.

One moment that truly inspired me was during a period of high attrition and absenteeism among direct labor. Despite the difficulty, the team's support was unwavering. My manager was approachable, and colleagues stepped up beyond their usual responsibilities, making the workload more manageable and demonstrating what real teamwork looks like.

Another defining moment came when I returned from maternity leave. My manager and team gave me the space and support I needed to ease back in, helping me balance my professional and personal responsibilities. That experience made me feel genuinely valued.

Both moments reflect the people-focused culture that defines Trelleborg.
