We had the opportunity to speak with Alex Khun, a Principal Engineer at Trelleborg Medical Solutions, about his career journey and experiences with the company. Alex highlighted how Trelleborg's commitment to ongoing education, cross-functional hands-on experience, and career advancement opportunities played a key role in shaping his professional growth and development.

I started with Trelleborg in 2002 as a General Assembler after immigrating to the States. Eager to take on more responsibility and challenge myself further, I pursued the Production Leader position in the Microscopic and General Assembly area in 2007. Because of my technical skills and enthusiasm for continuous learning, I joined the Engineering team as a Technician in 2009. During this time, the company played a major role in supporting my ongoing education through various technical training programs.

These opportunities allowed me to deepen my expertise in Medical Device development and validation, from assembly and packaging to sterilization. In 2013, I was promoted to Engineer 1 and began working closely with customers, leading projects in Medical Device development from initial experiments all the way to commercialization. Today, I’m proud to support early-phase R&D for Combination Products, expanding my skillset and preparing these products for market launch. Throughout my career, Trelleborg has encouraged my growth at every step, providing the learning resources and mentorship I needed to succeed.
