Trelleborg Nottingham Supplies Coated Fabrics for Atlantic Antics

Trelleborg Nottingham has donated polyurethane-coated fabric to a team of local adventurers, who are looking to become the youngest and fastest women ever to cross the Atlantic.

The Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge is set over 3000 miles of open ocean. It is scheduled to take place in December 2020, beginning in the Canary Islands and ending in Antigua.

Team member Hannah Walton was born and raised in Nottingham, close to the Trelleborg facility.

We donated 10m of Dartex® Endurance for use as cabin mattresses, which need to withstand harsh conditions throughout the challenge, but also provide a welcoming rest space as the team take it in turns to row 2 hours on, 2 hours off for 45 days straight!

Also donated was some lumious yellow Vapex®, traditionally used for workwear garments, but it has been put to good use as highly visible cushion pads – just in case they are washed overboard.
