Odin DSUs are installed onto the Deck Support Frame of a transport barge. The topside of the platform is loaded onto this deck support frame and the DSUs act to absorb the weight of the topside; these DSUs support the integrated deck during transportation and installation.
When the upper block is transported by a barge, the deck support (DSU) can support the weight of the upper block. When the upper block of the oil platform is built, it needs to be loaded onto the barge and transported to the installation site. During the transportation, the barge may encounter unfavorable weather and sea conditions, thus facing some interference. If you don't try to ease it, the upper block will be "at risk." To this end we have a deck support frame and deck support for the barge.
The deck support has two steel housings mounted on the deck support frame of the barge with an elastomeric pad between the two housings. The upper block of the platform is loaded onto the deck support frame and the deck support acts to absorb the weight of the upper block. These deck supports form support for the integrated platform and allow for relative horizontal displacement between the platform and the deck support frame during transport and coupling.
