Deck Support Units (DSU)

Once the topside of an offshore oil and gas platform or wind structure is completed, it requires precise loading onto a barge for safe transport to the offshore installation site. To safeguard both the topside and the barge, our specialized Deck Support Units (DSUs) are engineered with precision and tailored to meet the unique demands of each project.

These DSUs are composed of elastomeric pads encased within durable steel casings, installed between the topside and the barge’s deck support frame. Their primary function is to absorb the substantial weight of the topside, reducing direct impact and ensuring structural integrity during transit. Moreover, our DSUs facilitate controlled horizontal movement between the topside and the deck support frame, mitigating the effects of dynamic sea conditions and ensuring a smooth and secure transportation and installation process.
