    In 1896, production started in Trelleborg, where we are still headquartered. Pioneering rubber use for industrial applications, becoming the leading rubber company in Scandinavia.

    International expansion
    Trelleborg grows fast, internationalization begins. In 1950, 4% of sales were outside of Sweden. By 1970 almost 40%. Stock exchange listing in 1964.

    A conglomerate
    Evolution from rubber company to fast-growing industrial conglomerate.
    Sales surged from ~EUR 240 million to ~EUR 2.2 billion by 1989.
