Syntac® thermoforming materials for packaging

Thermoformed packaging such as drinking cups, food containers and pharmaceutical packaging are formed using plug assisted pressure forming, where the plastic substrate is molded over a specially designed plug using pressure forming, to create a thin-gauged thermoformed usable end product.

The Syntac® range of materials are designed specifically for fabrication of plugs and other associated tooling used in thermoforming manufacturing. Syntac® materials offer a high performance, high quality solution that is easier to machine and faster to hot-swap than alternative materials.

Available as a sheet or bar for CNC machining, materials can also be cast to shape as a service at our UK facility, instead of machining, reducing the amount of wasted material and saving you time by providing you with a finished plug. Customer specific inserts can be pre-fitted to cast plugs, providing you with a hot-swappable component option, supporting the easy attachment of the plugs to either the ceiling or bed plate of the manufacturing equipment.
