1024x575 Katarzyna SokulskaWho are you?

Katarzyna “Kasia” Sokulska, Logistics Manager for Trelleborg’s Forsheda pipe seals.

What are your key duties?

As Logistics Manager, I am responsible for the entire supply chain for Forsheda pipe seals; from purchasing to production planning, inventory management and transport in our factory in Poland as well as all logistic activity at our distribution center in Holland.

I have recently become involved in a logistics project in Mexico as well, as this is an important area for the Forsheda supply chain. I am also the coordinator for the Trelleborg’s pipe seals operation of Trelleborg’s Purchasing Excellence Program.

You’ve just celebrated 18 years of working for Trelleborg’s pipe seals operation in January 2018. What do you like about working for Trelleborg?

I have been with Trelleborg for this period of time as I really appreciate the Group’s clear and simple corporate principles. I like the innovative spirit, the international environment, the great managers and colleagues, and being part of a dedicated and committed team; these are all factors which drive me in my own development.

What are the key challenges you face in your job?

The most demanding aspect of a job in logistics is its high tempo, every day. Everything is fast-moving and it can be very stressful if we need to fix an issue as soon as possible to satisfy our customers. At the same time, we need to continuously work on improving and simplifying our daily procedures as well as developing future strategies. We can’t simply say that we are too busy to improve. This is why efficient time management is probably the most important part of my job.

How do you think business in your area is evolving and what are you doing to prepare for this?

Our area,– which focuses on new seals, has been doing well over the last few years and we are ramping up business worldwide. And our supply chain must adapt to support this growing business. We need to automate processes in warehouses, enhance our systems to be faster and more accurate.
