"The International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) are co-organizing the IADC/SPE Drilling Conference and Exhibition which brings together the global offshore drilling community in a forum to discuss challenges in drilling operations and present new solutions for improving performance. These considerations are particularly important with the current industry focus on driving down costs, whilst maintaining a high level of operational excellence in ever-challenging offshore environments.
As the Trelleborg Offshore representative in the conference technical program, I will be presenting a talk on Helically Grooved Drill Riser Buoyancy which was jointly developed with Diamond Offshore Drilling. My presentation focuses on the module’s mechanisms of drag reduction and VIV mitigation which is characterized using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations. My presentation is at 10.15am, Tuesday March 6th, and can be found on the conference website using the following link:
The conference will be held from March 6th - 8th at the Fort Worth Convention Center in Fort Worth, Texas, USA. More information on the conference can be found here. We look forward to seeing you there and be sure to visit us on stand 236!"
