Knitted Fabrics

The benefit of a knitted fabric is in its ability to stretch, as the knitted loops of yarn allow the structure to move.
 
The knitting process allows for control of the stretch properties of the fabric, creating fabrics with 2 way stretch or 4 way stretch; fabrics that can be easily stretched or more dimensionally stable.  
Stretch properties mean that knitted fabrics are ideal for use with contoured surfaces.

Coated Materials

The performance of a textile can be greatly enhanced by a polymer coating.
 
At Trelleborg Engineered Coated Fabrics, we coat textiles using a wide range of manufacturing processes, including direct coating, lamination, transfer coating and hot melt coating.
 
Surface texture can be added through embossing, while top layer finishes can add further functionality.
