Many of our employees had a fantastic time supporting a great cause on the course. The funds raised during the tournament go towards scholarships, cutting-edge training equipment, and updating facilities for students at Isothermal Community College near our Rutherfordton, North Carolina site, furthering opportunities for the next generation.

Rutherfordton Teams up with the Pipeline Camp

Our Rutherfordton, North Carolina (USA) site hosted a group of high school students for a tour and an introduction to the team and the plant. These students, aged 14-18, represented all the local high schools in the community. Most of the students are members of the Omegabytes FRC Team 5727, funded by the Rutherford Early College High School (REaCH), which focuses on robotics and provides opportunities for application-based use of STEAM principles. This summer, they are participating in the Pipeline Camp, a program that allows them to visit facilities and observe the practical use of technology in the local community.
During the visit, the students met the local leadership team and participated in an extensive tour of the facility. They made clear connections between their classroom studies in mechanical engineering, programming, robotics, and 3D CAD modeling, and the technologies employed at Rutherfordton to operate the facility daily. Many students were surprised to discover the variety of roles available at the site and the diverse educational backgrounds and degrees held by the team members.

Supply Chain Manager Stan Zwyrbla, Process Manager Ben MacLaren, Inventory Specialist Ben Malo, and Operations Manager Gary Eldredge participated in the second annual Kyla's Krusaders Golf Tournament to benefit the Oncology floor at the Connecticut Children's Medical Center (USA). At Connecticut Children's, no child is denied care based on a family's ability to pay, and all funds raised go towards providing the care our children need and deserve. Trelleborg also sponsored a hole to contribute to the event.
Trelleborg Randolph donates gifts over the Christmas Season

Trelleborg Monson donates to Wreaths Across America to honor Veterans

In collaboration with the local high school and other businesses, our Monson, Massachusetts (USA) location donated to Wreaths Across America, an organization focused on honoring veterans for their service around the holidays.
National Wreaths Across America Day was held on December 14, 2023. Plant Manager Rick Malo and Administrative Assistant Molly Szado joined over two million volunteers and supporters nationwide to help place over 1,000 wreaths on veteran graves in Monson.
Rutherfordton Sponsors Angel Tree Program

Every holiday season, our Rutherfordton, North Carolina (USA) location donates to the Salvation Army Angel Tree in honor of the holiday season. The Angel Tree program helps provide Christmas gifts for hundreds of thousands of children annually. This year, Rutherfordton was able to sponsor 15 children!

Representing Women in Science and Technology

Trelleborg has partnered with three leading Swedish universities, Lund University, Stockholm School of Economics, and Stockholm University, to explore whether introducing female role models in science and technology fields can affect the number of girls in STEM programs.
Trelleborg Engineered Coated Fabrics is proud to be part of this initiative for the second year running. Solution Manager Rose-Marie Hansson, among others, visits local schools to engage with 15-year-old students to explain science and technology studies and shed light on the exciting career opportunities as engineers.
Trelleborg Sponsors Kyla’s Krusaders First Annual Golf Tournament

Adopt A Highway

Our Rutherfordton, North Carolina (USA) has sponsored a two-mile stretch of highway to help with growing concerns about trash and debris along North Carolina's roadways. As a sponsor, Trelleborg will volunteer at least four times a year to pick up litter on the highway to keep the environment clean.
The Purple Martin 4 Miler
Trelleborg's Rutherfordton, North Carolina (USA) plant recently sponsored the Purple Martin Fabulous 4 Miler. The race began at Kiwanis Park and followed the greenway down and back for a fabulous finish in the park's heart. All proceeds for this year's race supported the Eric Wells Memorial Shelter to be constructed in Kiwainis Park.
Jessie Marlowe, Finance Director, was one of the 126 runners at the race that raised USD 15,000 for the picnic shelter.
$3,500 Raised for the American Cancer Society
Our Monson, Massachusetts (USA) location sponsored Monson High School's Monson vs. Cancer nights. Over two nights, all four basketball teams played their games wearing jerseys sponsored by Trelleborg. Different fundraiser events happened during each game, and the event raised $3,500 for the American Cancer Society.
Trelleborg teams up with Teknikcollege to Manufacture 64 Stoves for Ukraine

Trelleborg’s engineered coated fabrics operation has collaborated with Sweden’s largest technical college, Teknikcollege, to manufacture 64 stoves over two days on the school’s premises to help with relief efforts of Ukrainians suffering through power outages. These stoves will help Ukrainians keep warm and cook food during the winter.

Trelleborg Monson Sponsors Local Shelter Children for Christmas

In honor of the Christmas season, our Monson, Massachusetts (USA) location teamed up with a Monson resident to sponsor 25 children in local shelters who, without the support of this program, would wake up on Christmas morning without any presents to open. Trelleborg Employee Raises Funds for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute

Trelleborg employee Stan Zwyrbla competed in the Pan-Mass Challenge, a two-day cycling race that begins in Sturbridge, Massachusetts (USA), and finishes across the state in Provincetown, Massachusetts (USA). The Pan-Mass Challenge raises funds for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for cancer research and treatment. Trelleborg was proud to make a charitable donation to Stan’s ride, which he specifically asked to be directed to Childhood Cancer Research.

Trelleborg works with Boccia England to achieve its vision that playing this inclusive sport can change people’s lives. Boccia England is a registered charity and the national governing body for the sport of boccia. The charity is dedicated to improving the physical and emotional well-being of children, young people, and adults with disabilities through the sport of boccia. In this indoor Paralympic sport, players propel balls from a seated position to land the ball close to a white marker ball called the jack.
Trelleborg collaborates with Isothermal Community College’s International Student Exchange Program
Trelleborg has collaborated with Isothermal Community College (ICC) for over twenty years, with our business unit joining the international student exchange program in 2020 to support the development of future workers. The exchange program allows for the enrichment of the students by offering an international learning experience that will help them in their future.
Trelleborg funds local youth baseball team’s summer season
Trelleborg proudly sponsored a U14 baseball team in the Sandy Koafax A Division near our Monson, Massachusetts (USA) facility. The donation covered all division fees for each athlete, as well as uniforms, baseballs, and umpire payments.

Trelleborg sponsored Monson High School’s Varsity Baseball and Softball teams. Along with a recruitment banner on the ball field, Trelleborg donated to the Monson Athletic Booster Association to go towards athletic scholarships for graduating high school seniors.
To support World Wildlife Day, Trelleborg makes charitable donation to the World Wildlife Fund
The United Nations has proclaimed March 3rd as World Wildlife Day. Trelleborg's engineered coated fabrics operation donated to the World Wildlife Fund to help contribute to the efforts others are making to save some of the world's most threatened wildlife and their habitats and achieve conservation results around the globe.
Trelleborg Makes Charitable Donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

Each Christmas season, Trelleborg makes a large donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in their customers’ names. It is one of the world’s premier pediatric cancer research centers in Memphis, Tennessee. Its mission is to find cures for children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for anything.

Each year, members from the Finance Department at our Rutherfordton, North Carolina (USA) facility allot time from their busy schedules to participate in the annual litter sweep which is organized by the nonprofit: Keep Rutherford County Beautiful. Keep Rutherford County Beautiful is volunteer-based, and strives to clean up the street, educate the young of the community and implement policy change.

Original Evacuation Slide-Rafts constructed with Trelleborg material on display at the Carolinas Aviation Museum
The original evacuation slide-rafts constructed from Trelleborg materials, used following the Flight 1549 Airbus emergency landing on the Hudson River in New York City, have been put on display along with the reconstructed aircraft at the Carolinas Aviation Museum in Charlotte, North Carolina. We made a donation/sponsorship agreement with them that led to an informational plaque about Trelleborg in front of our evacuation slide.
