Trelleborg Showcases Printing Blankets and New Coating Solutions at ExpoPrint 2014

Trelleborg Printing Solutions, leading manufacturer of printing blankets, presents its latest developments at ExpoPrint in Sao Paulo, Brazil, July 16 to 22.

Trelleborg, through its leading Vulcan®, Rollin® and Printec® brands for the printing industry, provides the widest range of blankets for offset printing, covering all needs by application (newspapers, magazines, commercials, business forms, metal decorating and packaging) and printing machine type (coldset, heatset and sheetfed).

To improve the performance of coatings in commercial and packaging printing, Trelleborg is revealing the latest addition to its range: a new coating plate specifically designed to enhance the quality of varnishing.

Paolo Gagliardi, Offset Business Director of Trelleborg Printing Solutions, says: “In addition to the traditional blankets, the new coating plate range, designed for both UV and aqueous coatings, represents a significant product innovation that complements our total offering. 

“Our new fabricless Vulcan® coating plates will be presented for the first time at ExpoPrint. With added features such as cleaner plate preparation, easier strip with visible cut lines, reduced ink back-trapping, simpler handling and perfect printing quality over runs up to 100,000 copies, the new coating plates provide tangible benefits to printing operations.

Adding the new coating plates to the existing range of printing blankets, Trelleborg’s offerings to printers are now more comprehensive, with a wide selection of outstanding solutions achieving high performance in all sheetfed jobs.”

The Vulcan® X-Coat Plus, a polymer-based coating plate, and the Vulcan® X-Coat, the rubber-based version, will be available in two thickness: 1.15 mm (0.045 inch) and 1.35 mm (0.053 inch).

Trelleborg’s printing solution brands, Vulcan®, Rollin® and Printec®, allow printers to access its diverse product range.

Vulcan® is the premium brand choice covering all coldset, heatset and sheetfed presses. Vulcan® Folio 202 and Alto Plus are part of the unmatched offer for high quality printing in all different applications.

Rollin® products will feature on the stand, such as the Rollin® T100®, a multi-ply adhesive blanket specifically designed for printing business forms and labels. Created to improve special and metal decorating applications, the Rollin® UV-E provides optimum performance with UV inks and is available in multiple thicknesses.

The world-renowned Printec® range will also be showcased, with the packaging and metal decorating specific 134, 575, and 501 styles taking center stage. These styles feature a ground and buffed quick release surface and uniform gauge, effectively reducing piling as well as giving high abrasion resistance.
