Trelleborg offers offset blanket innovation at PRINT 18

Experts from Trelleborg’s printing solutions operation will be on hand at the forthcoming PRINT 18 event from Sept 30 to Oct 3 in Chicago, Illinois, to explain how printers can improve the productivity and profitability of their printing presses by utilizing offset blanket technology in the most efficient way.

Max Solomon, VP Sales and Marketing for Trelleborg Coated Systems in the US, says: “There has been a significant increase in the number of new offset presses being installed throughout North America and Canada. These highly specified presses offer the potential for extremely large levels of production, but they can only achieve this if fitted with blankets that enable consistent output of quality print at fast speeds. Equipping an older press with better, more suitable, blankets can also significantly improve the productivity and quality achievable with these models.”

Trelleborg’s printing solutions operation is a global supplier of offset blankets and its Vulcan, Rollin and Printec brands provide a unique selection for commercial and packaging operations, including those operating the latest energy-saving UV technologies. Blankets are manufactured at key facilities around the world to extremely strict quality standards, while conversion is carried out at dedicated locations to precise tolerances to ensure accuracy and longevity on the press.

The company’s range includes solutions for packaging, metal decorating, commercial sheet fed, web offset and newspaper production as well as niche applications such as coating and varnishing. Coating options include fabric-backed and fabric-less products. In addition, Axcyl flexo sleeves are recognized as being amongst the best anywhere.

Throughout PRINT 18, Trelleborg personnel can be found within the hospitality suite of the Association for Print Technologies (formerly NPES) and visitors will be able to hear about the latest developments in blanket technology. This will include the increasingly popular Vulcan Folio Black, which has been attracting growing interest because of its ability to effectively be used with conventional and UV inks.

“Innovation is key to everything that Trelleborg does,” says Max Solomon. “We lead the way among offset blanket manufacturers in terms of pioneering work and pushing forward the boundaries of what can be achieved.”
