Trelleborg tires led the way at CIAME 2017

Trelleborg’s radial agriculture tire range took center stage at CIAME 2017 in Wuhan, China. CIAME is the biggest agriculture machinery exhibition in China with over 5,000 exhibitors and 150,000 visitors.

The Trelleborg stand played host to over 500 farming professionals who were treated to a presentation from Sales Manager David Wang. In it he introduced Trelleborg’s range of radial tires and outlined how operating at the correct tire pressure can maximize production while reducing fuel consumption.

Trelleborg also showcased its latest innovation, the Variable Inflation Pressure (VIP) system, which was awarded Innovation Gold at the SIMA exhibition earlier this year. The VIP system is a smart and autonomous complete wheel capable of self-adjusting the pressure of a combine harvester’s tires according to its load during operation, thereby optimizing tire footprint in order to reduce soil compaction.

Away from the stand, Trelleborg was well represented on the machines of many original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), both international and local showing the increasing speed of the radialisation and that Trelleborg is fast becoming a brand of choice in China, In particular on tractors in the 180 to 320 Horse Power (HP) range.

During the on-stand presentation sessions, Trelleborg also revealed the result of two field tests conducted in Xinjiang in June and Heilongjiang in September. The tests showed that by using Trelleborg tires, tractors can improve productivity by between 13% and 18%, while achieving a reduction in fuel consumption of between 10% and 17%.

Andrea Manenti, Managing Director China, commented:

“We are proud to see our brand popularity increasing as well as more tractors fitted with large tire solutions such as the new 650/65R42 TM800. We have been working closely with OEMs and local farming professionals alike over the past few years to show how choosing Trelleborg radial tires can support Chinese farmers to produce more with less and to do so sustainably. Through events like our roadshow program and of course exhibitions such as CIAME, we will continue to spread that message.”
