This month’s SuperSealer is a family man and strategic thinker. Having worked with Trelleborg for more than ten years, he is perfectly placed to lead our business unit into a promising future.
Who are you?
My name is Magnus Andersson. I’m 45 years old and I’m president of the newly formed business unit that combines Pipe Seals and Sealing Profiles.
How long have you been in your position? What are your key duties?
I have been the president of Sealing Profiles since June 2016. Together with the management team, I have contributed in ensuring we stay innovative customer-focused and cooperative, whilst monitoring our internal processes and driving efficiencies. I am now leading the merger of two business units: Trelleborg Pipe Seals and Trelleborg Sealing Profiles into an even stronger partner for our customers.
What do you like about working for Trelleborg?
We are a large, decentralized organization. This means business decisions are made locally, close to our customers and operations, which is a great advantage for a fast-growing and evolving business such as ours. It is also a pleasure to work with such competent and engaged people.
What are the key challenges you face?
Thankfully, I encounter more opportunities than obstacles in my job, but one of my main challenges is to keep our teams focused on working toward the same vision as our business grows and develops. We are already a global player in our respective markets and business segments, but we still need to expand our geographical footprint. This is an important focus of our strategic plan.
How do you think your business is going to evolve in the future? How are you preparing for this?
This is an exciting period for us: we have merged two business units, both of which had already secured a dominant presence in the building, construction and infrastructure market. As our team grows, so will our business. We will have a much stronger platform to stand on going forward, while the merger will also create excellent opportunities for our employees, shareholders and customers.
What do you do in your free time?
Outside of work, much of my focus is on my wife and three daughters, whether that’s visiting new places, socializing with friends or just spending quality time in each other’s company. I also enjoy jogging, mountain biking and – when time allows – playing golf.
