Printing blanket types 

Main types:

  • conventional blankets with  NBR Compound. Can work with normal conventional paste ink
  • combi/Hybrid blankets with HNBR compound. Can work both with Conventional & UV Inks (70:30)
  • UV dedicated blankets  for UV inks. The top rubber surface is EPDM coating

Among the wide choice of Trelleborg printing blankets, printers can choose the solution with a top face made with the EPDM formula compound, if the application uses only UV inks, or a combi blanket, if you use both conventional and UV inks.

What is UV Printing?

Many are the advantages of the UV inks, and can be listed as:

  • Very fast curing
  • Curing is independent of the pH of the fountain solution
  • 100 % dry solid content
  • No evaporation of solvent
  • Perfect stability on rollers and in ink duct as no solvents involved
  • Needs little energy and space
  • Very good adhesion on a lot of different substrates
  • Gloss of UV-varnishes is very high
  • Chemical and heat resistant

    • To achieve these results offset printer are requested to use a special printing blankets, suited for UV inks

    UV in food packaging
