Trelleborg takes part in cold foiling workshop

Trelleborg will be one of several leading manufacturers in the graphic arts industry taking part in a workshop on cold foiling, which is being organized by a Polish packaging printer. The workshop will take place over two and a half days and focus on how companies involved in this technology can push forward the boundaries of what can be achieved.
Matthias Horn, Regional Sales Director EMEA (Europe Middle East Africa) for Trelleborg’s printing solutions, says: “Applying cold foil on a printing press is a very specialist field and requires the implementation of highly specialized products. Trelleborg has been involved in this area for many years, having pioneered a blanket, the Vulcan Irio, which was the first blanket on the market developed exclusively for use with Iriodin® pigmented inks.
“Cold foiling on a press, which does not require heat or high pressure, offers a significant number of advantages over traditional hot foiling methods. It provides quick changeover between jobs, fast running speeds and allows in-line and off-line overprinting, while the process enables the transfer of very fine details, plus large areas of foil and screens in a single run. We’re looking forward to sitting around a table with experts in areas related to the process and examining opportunities to develop this technology further.”
