Open Day in June 2015

Trelleborg Demonstrates Improved Safety and Efficiency of New DrainPlusLiner 2.0 at Open Day

Around 30 processing companies attended the first open day held by Trelleborg’s pipe seals operation in Duisburg, Germany, in June 2015. Focusing on the new DrainPlusLiner 2.0, attendees were taught how to handle the new liner correctly in realistic conditions, utilizing equipment normally used on construction sites.

Open Day 2015 2
Trelleborg’s DrainPlusLiner 2.0 has a unique silicone coating that uses the outstanding properties of synthetic polymers for trenchless pipe rehabilitation technology. The combination of cutting-edge textile production technology and a special coating formulation has created a high-tech solution that meets high standards of quality and versatility.

Stephan Raab, Commercial Manager at Trelleborg’s pipe seals operation, says: “At Trelleborg we offer valuable technical support, from basic to advanced levels. We train operators how to use our rehabilitation systems properly and professionally to maintain the value of wastewater systems. And while the theory is important, we encourage a practical, hands-on approach to learning.”

Trelleborg has expanded its Tried-and-Tested course and seminar program to include product events for processors. The first event of this type was recently held in Duisburg 11th June 2015.

Raab continues: “The positive response from our first open day and consistent interest in our products has shown us that we can offer significant added value to processors and users alike. The next event is already scheduled for October.”

The soft yet sturdy DrainPlusLiner 2.0 combines all the practical requirements of renovating house connection pipes.

It is capable of bending to a 90 degree angle, achieving a minimum wall thickness of three millimeters – even after two upward changes in dimension – and is resistant to steam and hot water.

It goes a way to meeting market requirement for exact predictability of lengthwise expansion. This not only represents a first on the market, but also guarantees companies using the liner a high level of safety, significantly reducing the use of materials and increasing the efficiency of work on the construction site.

To ensure intact sewer systems on a sustainable basis, high-performance products are of paramount importance. In order to guarantee the integrated and long-term rehabilitation of wastewater systems, the portfolio of Trelleborg’s pipe seals operation includes a complete program for private drainage systems and house connection pipes. Final products are manufactured in its own production facilities according to the DIN EN ISO 9001 and DIN EN ISO 14001 standards, consistently ensuring high quality.
