Meet “SuperSealer” Jacky Han

With his key role in one of Trelleborg’s biggest markets, our September SuperSealer enjoys working with a wide range of great people from all walks of life. He discusses the importance of coming up with new consumer strategies to stay ahead of the pack and capturing new opportunities as they arise.

Who are you?

My name is Jacky Han and I’m Sales Manager for Greater China at Trelleborg Seals & Profiles, covering the Pipe Rehab & Pipe Seals product area.

How long have you worked in this position and what are your key duties?

How time flies! I joined Trelleborg Pipe Seals in December 2017, and I’m responsible for exploring new opportunities in the China market and helping to develop sustainable growth. I work with construction companies, pipe manufacturers, municipal organizations, piping associations, water authorities, governments and public services. 

What do you like about working here?

What I enjoy most about my role is being able to work with so many great people and be part of a global business. I enjoy working in a team with dedicated colleagues with whom I can share my knowledge and experience and from whom I can learn a lot. It’s also exposed me to different cultures and parts of the world; it’s broadened my perspective on how people work together and do business across countries and cultures.

What are the key challenges you face in your job?

Working in one of the world’s most competitive markets presents a range of challenges. It’s important we work hard to gain – and maintain – the trust of our customers. We need to be constantly aware of emerging trends and developments and able to predict what customers will require as soon as possible. It’s also important we let the market know that we do more than sell Trelleborg products. Indeed, we can also help companies solve sealing problems, improve their market competitiveness, and become industry leaders. In short, our goal is to achieve win-win situations.

How do you think the business in your area is going to evolve in the future? How are you preparing for this?

To grow our business further, it’s important that we continue our geographic expansion in China and broaden our product range further. From a sales perspective, a key challenge will be developing new products and customer strategies to achieve these goals, particularly in developing cities and new urban areas. Electronic commerce is another key focus area: we will have to maximize the ease of doing business for more and more customers through the use of sales apps and online platforms in the near future.

What do you do in your free time?

Outside of work, much of my focus is on my wife and young son, whether we’re visiting new places, socializing with friends, or just spending quality time together. I also enjoy jogging, cruising, climbing mountains and watching movies.
